Eldest
Posted by tini • ReTweet16 Comments »

Thanks Brosa!!!!

According to TheNewsPK, they might film Eldest. I think the OP got his details from Inheriwiki (Can never trust Wiki).

20th Century Fox currently holds the rights from Knopf to produce the sequel Eldest, and there have been rumors of it being released in Summer of 2011; however, this information is currently uncertain as they are making no statement to support the claim.

**

Edward Speleers has stated that he was training up for a second movie, and an unofficial report said something about the movie being filmed which is a good sign for many that Eldest The Movie, will be made. However, Garrett Hedlund is playing Louis in the movie Hectic (2008), so it is possible that they are waiting for “Murtagh” to come back. More information will be posted on this page as it comes in. According to IMDB website, John Malkovich has several movies in the making, all these movies with 2008 dates.
It was also said in a press release by 20th Century Fox that there will be a feature on the upcoming Eragon DVD called “Just The Beginning” that will give us a “postmortem look at what’s to come in the film series”

Eragon didn’t do well in the cinemas and i highly doubt that they will film Eldest.

The only thing that made me watch Eragon (this was pre-Gare obssession, btw) was the baby dragon. It was so cute. (I have a thing for wanting to keep fictional animals, even the ones that cold eat you alive.) I still didn't even re-watch it after I realized Gare was in it. :hmm: It jsut didn't work for me. BUT, that said, if they DID make it. And Gare WAS in it. I'd go see it anyways. But with as bad as Eragaon did, I agree with Tini, I doubt they'd set themselves up for more bombs. *shrugs*

@Rider, how could you read it if it was just posted on the 2nd August?

@Chi, Rider has this 'thing' for reading everything before we post it. No matter if it's posted on the web yesterday, she read it already. Just don't mind it. Anyways, I still think it won't do too well if it true. It's highyl unlikely that the sequel will be good if the first one sucked.

Rider's not the only one who has seen this article before because I have. Just because it doesn't get posted right away doesn't mean people have not already read it. I probably read it on the same wiki site but never mentioned it cause it didn't sound interesting

Lol, oh I'm sure others have read it but the person laways writes that they read everything before hand (even if it's new). I know the article is old b/c it says Hectic as a 2008 movie. And sadly, we still have no Louis to see and watch in the big screen. :(

Personally, I think it's time for bigger and greater things for Garrett. I don't want to see him billed after Ed Speelers (that seems WRONG). Plus, based on how thei first movie was made, I don't have high hopes for it. Unfortunately, Garrett may have signed a contract to do the whole series. IMO, Garrett needs to be the star of films not a supporting actor (except for being a part of an outstanding ensemble cast). The Eldest rumors have been going on for a while and that includes an on-line posting from the the Australian publishing house for Paolini's works in the past. And ppl have speculated about Speelers working on a super 'secret' project for a while but it's been mentioned for so long and we have yet to hear official announcements.

^ Agreed. It's Gare's time now. He deserves the bigger roles now. He's good enough.

i really, really don't think Garrett would do it anyway. He seemed really unhappy with how that whole thing went down, so I won't hold my breath, nor am I really sure I want to see it happen anyway.

No wonder that the movie didn't do well, they ruined it completely if you ask me. Saphira was amazing and Garrett as Murtagh was dead on but as for the rest, there's not much that stays true to the book, which is amazing.

I wouldn’t mind for the second one to come out, but quite frankly they kind of ruined all chances for a sequel with the first with how far they deviated from the book. It was kind of retarded how they gave Eragon all the spotlight when Murtagh had a far more substantial part in the book. Granted, I like Ed Speleers as well, so I wouldn’t mind seeing the both of them in the same movie together again.
