Biography
Hollywood is full of lost dreams but old fashioned hard work and
determination have come through big time for Garrett Hedlund.
Just 21, this strapping good old boy from Roseau, Minnesota seems
poised for stardom. All those years growing up in North Minnesota
some 10 miles from the Canadian border have come in handy for this
tenacious thespian who has turned a life long dream into reality.

Coming from a town of 2500, Hedlund learned to go with his dreams.
A natural athlete as a teen he wanted to turn pro but being on the creative
side the arts, gripped Garrett with a passion yet to be tapped. Early
stints in the choir and a life-long interest in photo journalism proved a
natural fall-back
position if his athletic efforts were to fail. Going to high school in Scottsdale,
Arizona where he did part time duty as a mascot, Garrett became more
interested in the film world. Leaving behind some modeling work showcasing
back packs for L.L. Bean, the call of the cinema beckoned. That need to
excel saw him watching films he had never seen, obtain their scripts, and
actually do practice auditions as if he was trying out for various roles in
previously cast films. Hard work like this proved handy for this mid-west
phenom when he made the big decision to head west. Countless dreams
are dashed with faded hopes in Los Angeles, a much bigger city than what
Garrett had earlier experienced. Brave as can be, Garrett packed his
belongings, shoved them into the back of his car, and the rest, as they
say, is history.
