Three new On the Road character posters were added to the two that were revealed recently – Old Bull Lee (Viggo Mortenseon) and Carlo Marx (Tom Sturridge). This time, the spotlight is on the supporting actresses in the cast.

Amy Adams is playing Jane, the wife of Old Bull Lee aka William S. Burroughs. Elizabeth Moss (Mad Men) is playing Galatea Dunkel, the wife of Big Ed Dunkel (Al Hinkle), one of the few women in the book not charmed by Dean Moriarty. And Alice Braga is Terry, a Mexican woman Sal meets up with on on of his solo road trips.

In addition to the new posters, the twitter account for the Official Brazilian Site, Na Estrada, has posted some interesting tidbits today (thanks to Simone for the translation):

“The warm-up meeting for the website was very productive. Soon, we will post on FB an exclusive picture of Garrett Hedlund.”

“When the site is up, we will share EXCLUSIVE promotions for followers and FB fans. Autographs, books and much more.”

As usual, no idea what “soon” means but I’m excited to see what they have in store for us. As I posted the other day, they are planning to have the Na Estrada Official Site up and running on Monday.

Soon to begin a roll-out release, the much anticipated big screen adaptation of the classic JACK KEROUAC novel ON THE ROAD is certainly taking its time getting to the screen. Directed by WALTER SALLES from a script by JOSE RIVERA, the cast includes GARRETT HEDLUND, KRISTEN STEWART, AMY ADAMS, STEVE BUSCEMI, KIRSTEN DUNST, ELISABETH MOSS and VIGGO MORTENSEN. First published in book form in 1957, KEROUAC’S novel was immediately embraced by post-war youth and considered to be one of just a few voices of “the beat generation”. In our last interview with HEDLUND, he talked about his rural background and how important it was to this project.

Juliana asked about Garrett attending the premiere and got the following reply: “Garrett, besides being fantastic in the movie, is the most attached of all the cast. He’ll probably collaborate with us with photos and texts.”

Finally! Pictures!

Garrett is currently filming the new Coen Brothers’ movie, Inside Llewyn Davis and production has moved back into New York City. Not sure how much more Garrett has left to film, but it sounds like he’s there at least through Friday.

He’s playing Johnny Five and this is his description and intro from the screenplay:

We finally have confirmation of the character Garrett is playing in Inside Llewyn Davis and it comes from a casting call for photo doubles for filming that will take place in Minnesota.

Here’s the description they posted:

JOHNNY FIVE (Garrett Hedlund): Dark blonde/light brown hair. TRIM MUSTACHE/SLIGHT GOATEE, some FACIAL HAIR, incl sideburns. Ht- 6’2″, 178lbs (Jacket-41L. Pants-33/33). * MUST BE COMFORTABLE DRIVING W/O EYEGLASSES (may wear contacts) & have valid drivers license.

And John Goodman is playing Roland Turner.

Johnny is a sort of chauffeur to Roland and they pick up Llewyn Davis to drive him from New York to Chicago. I read the script and he has some great lines. An added plus, Garrett gets to drive on screen again ala Dean Moriarty.
